Celes' 2 month Dr. visit

Celes had her 2 month Dr. visit today and she did awesome! She now weighs 10 lbs 4 oz and she is 23.5 inches long! She's getting so big now! She's starting to develop a personality and we are having so much fun talking to her because she talks back! I keep trying to convince Josh that when she says "Mlah!" She really said "Mom!" So far I have had no such luck but maybe if I'm determined I will eventually convince him.

Celes got her 2 month shots today as well...poor baby! She's been a little bit fussy today but I don't blame her! I hate shots...

It's About Time!

So I think it's about time that I finally posted something on here! It has been a crazy 2 months so I am going to do 1 post covering the whole 2 months.

Here is where it all began, me and Josh going into the hospital to our scheduled induction. Needless to say, we didn't sleep a whole lot the night before, nor did I put makeup on. And of course, I got pinkeye the morning of the induction. Just my luck!

This is me at 41.5 weeks.

Celes at 2 days old. She didn't even fit into her newborn sleepers. This is the very smallest one we had. Who knew we should have bought preemie?

This is Celes at 3 days old. Me and my mom did a little photo shoot while Celes was asleep.

After her first bath with daddy. She loves her dad so much (just like mommy!)!

Cuddling in her towel after her first bath at home!

This is my side's 5 generation picture. From left to right: My mom, me, my great-grandma Oram, my grandma Van Horn, and Celes

Josh's side of the family's 4 generation picture. From left to right: Josh, Grandpa Angle, Janiece, and Celes

Celes at 1 month old. It's crazy how much she has changed already! She is still in newborn clothes (all except for pants, thank heavens it's capri weather!). She is wearing 3 month sleepers because her feet are too long for the other ones...sorry Celes, that's from mommy's side of the family!

Mommy and Celes at 2 months! I can't wait to see her grow up and all the fun things we will do together!

Celes Marie Burgess is finally here!

Celes Marie Burgess was born June 21, 2010 at 5:44 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. She is such a good baby and we love her!

This picture was taken about 15 minutes after I gave birth. I still hadn't gotten to see her yet because she wasn't wanting to breathe. When they broke my water, there was a little bit of meconium in the fluid so they called in a respiratory therapist to examine her right after birth. They had a little trouble getting her to breathe because she had so much mucus and fluid in her. After about 30 minutes, I got to finally hold her.

This is Josh getting to see her for one of the first times.

This is her right after they finished suctioning her.

This is her 3 days old. She loves to lay like this so we had to take her picture! Every time we lay her down or hold her, she immediately goes into this ball. She loves to cuddle! She is SO cute!

Still Prego...

Just a little update on the situation:

I'm still pregnant, in case any of you were wondering. I went to the doctor today and he said I was at a 3, 80% effaced, and she is at a -1 position. This was good news for us because she has been VERY comfortable at a 2, 70-80%, and a -2 position for the last 4 weeks. It didn't help comfort me when they handed me the induction appointment/instructions paper... Hopefully it doesn't come to that though! He stripped my membranes again and hopefully she will be here soon!

Baby "bump" Week 39

These are some recent belly pictures. 39 weeks... Only 10 days left(or less!)

So here is hopefully my last blog post while I'm pregnant. I have gone through the scared phase where I didn't want to have her anytime soon and now I've moved on to the "I want to have her now!" phase.

I am betting that it will be Friday afternoon at 4 pm. One of our friends called Saturday at 12:30 am. What's your guess?

NURSERY!!!

Here are some updates on the nursery:

Josh's cousin Daniel and his wife Summer gave us this swing! It is a cradle swing and will come in handy I am sure!

This is the changing table that Kirk and Janiece gave to us!

We painted this dresser white because it was kind of beat up and looks WAY better white!

We bought 2 of these uniforms for her to go visit Daddy at the studio! They are SO DANG CUTE!!! One is 0-6 and the other is 6-12 so she's good to go until we can get her into a real uniform and get her doing some taekwondo!

This is the pack and play my mom gave us that we are going to use as a bassinet until our crib gets here some time in July.

My mom and I (mostly my mom) designed and made this quilt! We put green minky on the back of it. It is so soft and will keep little Celes warm at night!

We still have a few finishing touches that we are going to do such as letters spelling her name to go above the crib and some very creative wall art we are going to make using scrapbook paper. I will post more pictures when it is done!

Ok... Now I'm starting to get nervous...

So I went to the doctor on last Monday, May 17, and he said that I was not dilated at all and that I was only 50% effaced. That gave me a little bit of comfort as I have started to get extremely nervous. Well, Wednesday, May 26, I went back to the doctor and in only a week I have dilated to a 2 and I am 80% effaced... That makes me a little nervous. As I was leaving, he said, "See you back in another week.... or sooner." OR SOONER!!! That isn't comforting my nerves at all. He did say that she was head down and everything was looking good. That helped a little but I am starting to get Braxton Hicks contractions that are becoming stronger. We will see how soon she wants to make her little appearance in the world!

Just a few updates!

So..... Janiece is doing wonderfully! She is responding well to everything and is even up and walking! It truly is amazing how fast she is recovering. She doesn't even look or sound like she just had a heart transplant. We are so grateful that she is doing so well. Thank you for all of your prayers and support for Josh's family.

Another update on the baby-
She is doing well and she is finally starting to come out of her breeched state that she has been so comfortable in for the entire pregnancy. The doctor says that I am progressing normally and that he expects her to be born right around her due date. That makes me feel a little calmer because I am to the "I'm getting really nervous about having a baby" part of pregnancy. We are decorating the nursery this Saturday and I'm so excited! I can't wait for everything to be done. We have almost everything ready but we are still on the hunt for a cradle swing. I will post pictures when we are all done with everything!

Heart to Heart

Tonight, Janiece got a page on her very special pager saying that she needed to get to the hospital to receive a heart transplant. We are all praying that her body takes the heart with no complications and she comes out of the surgery well. Any prayers from anyone else would be appreciated greatly.

Baby... ready or not...

I can't believe that I am already 34 weeks pregnant... or 36 depending on who's due date you are going by. As I sit here and think about it, I would rather have the doctor's due date now because that will give me 2 more weeks to prepare. We still have so much to do but also we have gotten alot done. My mom has "offered" to decorate the nursery, so that will help... although, insisted might be a better word:) I also had my first long trip of the pregnancy last week to go down to Utah to see my Grandma Bame. It went way better than expected! I had no swelling or pain and I was amazingly comfortable in Josh's car. We are hoping that I will also get to go to Utah again this coming Tuesday to see Derek get home from his mission. I am hoping and praying that I will get to go. I have an appointment Monday so we will just see what he says!

Congratulations!

This is what Josh found when he went to the studio today:

BECAUSE:

So... Josh had about a week to prepare for his next belt advancement in Taekwondo and he did amazing! Everyone there agreed that he definitely earned his belt. Here are a few pictures of his performance:

He did truly earn his new belt and will be a Taekwondo Master in about a year from now. It is what he has worked so hard for the last 4 years to achieve and now he finally has the title of 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo. Now he starts training for his 6th degree that he will test for 5 years from now.

Congratulations Josh! You are amazing!

Pregnancy Update

Sorry about not updating in awhile... I haven't been feeling awesome so I was resting instead of posting. The doctor officially moved my due date back 2 weeks which makes me now due on June 12, 2010. I still am hoping and praying that she comes earlier rather than later.

This is my first "baby bump" picture and it was taken when I was about 3 1/2 months pregnant:

Here is an updated picture that was taken just Sunday and there isn't much of a difference:

Our Baby GIRL!

So we had our first ultrasound today and when the ultrasonographer told me it was going to be a girl I believe my words were, "Dang! Are you sure?" All 3 times he looked it was very clear to him that she is going to be a GIRL! So this is our little Celes Marie Burgess!!!
We are so excited! Everything looked good on the ultrasound so we are expecting a healthy baby girl the end of May!

SORRY!!!

It has been awhile since I have updated this! Things got a little crazy around our house. Alot of cool stuff has happened though. Josh is now working full time at Goode doing his title clerking stuff (whatever that is) and I have been working full time at the bank now too while some girls are on vacation. The baby is moving around more and more and I have started the "getting fat" phase of pregnancy. The fact that I lost 18 pounds before I finally put 1 on this week doesn't seem to make it any better. But, on the brighter side, me and Josh went to Twin and bought me some preggie pants! They are awesome! My other pants were falling off because my thighs were getting smaller but my stomach wasn't. Turns out that is a bad combo. We will hopefully be able to do another update on Monday because that's our ULTRASOUND DAY!!!! I'm a little excited if you can't tell! Hopefully the update will say it's a boy but whatever it is I will be happy!
